As clinically appropriate

ABATherapy

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the most studied therapy for autism. At Little Land, ABA is naturalistic, play-based, and led by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). We focus on what matters most to your family — communication, daily living, social connection, and feeling capable — in a setting designed to feel like fun, not work.

The basics

What is ABA Therapy?

What is ABA, exactly?

ABA is the science of how behavior works and how meaningful behavior change happens. Modern, naturalistic ABA is a far cry from older, table-only programs. We follow the child's lead, build skills in their natural environment, use play as the vehicle, and measure progress carefully so we can adjust quickly when something isn't working.

Who is ABA for?

ABA is most often recommended for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, but the principles can support any child working on communication, social, daily living, or behavior goals. A BCBA evaluation determines whether ABA is the right fit, and at what intensity.

Why it looks like play

Kids learn fastest when they're motivated. Our BCBAs and behavior technicians find what your child loves — trains, water play, swinging, books — and weave skill-building into those activities. Reinforcement is built into the play itself, so children stay engaged and gains transfer to home and school.

What makes ABA at Little Land unique

All disciplines, under one roof

Because Little Land offers every pediatric discipline — OT, ST, and PT — your child can receive all of their services in a single day, in a single place. That means consistent collaboration and goal alignment across every clinician on their team, something that is rare in most ABA facilities.

Our ABA program also weaves in the best of our enrichment classes throughout the week — Sensory Art, Music Exploration, and Little Learners — so therapy hours feel like meaningful, motivating play.

  • All services, one location

OT, ST, PT, and ABA all delivered in the same building — no juggling clinics across town.

  • True interdisciplinary collaboration

Your child's BCBA, OT, SLP, and PT share goals and coordinate care — a rarity in ABA.

  • Sensory Art built in

Hands-on art experiences support sensory regulation, fine motor skills, and creative expression.

  • Music Exploration weekly

Movement, rhythm, and song give kids motivating ways to practice language and social skills.

  • Little Learners pre-academics

Letters, numbers, and early handwriting are layered into the week to build school-readiness alongside ABA goals.

Skills we work on

  • Communication (verbal, AAC, gestures)
  • Social skills & peer play
  • Daily living & self-care
  • Following routines

These don't diagnose anything — but if several feel familiar, an evaluation can give you clarity and a plan.

  • An autism diagnosis or developmental concerns
  • Difficulty with daily routines (mealtime, bath, sleep)
  • Limited functional communication
  • Significant challenging behaviors that interfere with family life
  • Trouble with transitions or unexpected changes

In a session

What a session looks like

  1. 1

    Pairing & connection

Sessions begin by following the child's lead so the therapist becomes a source of fun, not a demand.

  2. 2

    Embedded learning

Skills from the plan are practiced inside motivating play — requesting a toy, taking turns, transitioning between rooms.

  3. 3

    Data, quietly collected

Therapists track progress on every goal so the BCBA can adjust the program weekly.

  4. 4

    Parent collaboration

Regular caregiver coaching ensures strategies work in your real life, not just at the clinic.

Naturalistic & neurodiversity-affirming

We do not chase 'indistinguishable from peers.' We build the specific skills your family chooses, in the way your child learns best, while honoring who they are.
