MusicExploration

Music Exploration is a caregiver-and-child class where babies, toddlers, and grown-ups make music together. Through song, instruments, scarves, and movement, kids build language, rhythm, coordination, and joyful connection — and grown-ups get a built-in repertoire of songs to sing all week long.

Music Exploration
The basics

What is Music Exploration?

Why music in early childhood?

Music lights up every part of a baby's brain at once — language, motor planning, social-emotional, memory, and self-regulation. Decades of research connect early music exposure to stronger language development, emotional regulation, and pre-literacy skills.

What we sing & play

Live music every class, with shakers, drums, scarves, parachute, and instruments kids can actually touch. Songs rotate through themes — animals, transportation, feelings, seasons — with familiar favorites woven in.

  • A Sailor Went to Sea

A classic clapping song — steady beat, rhyme, and turn-taking.

  • Dance to your Daddy

A gentle bouncing tune — rhythm and bonding for caregiver and child.

  • Little Land Theme

Our signature Little Land song — a warm welcome to every class.

  • Lavenders Blue

  • Goodbye Song

Our wind-down song — a predictable closing routine that helps with transitions.

Previews are short samples from class. Live sessions include caregiver participation, instruments, and movement.

    Songs & instruments

A mix of action songs, instrument exploration, and movement with scarves or props.

  3. 3

    Calm middle

A quieter song or lullaby resets the room and lets kids regulate.

  4. 4

    Goodbye song

The same goodbye song every week — predictable, sweet, and easy to sing in the car all week.

Frequently asked

Do I stay during class?+

Yes — Music Exploration is a caregiver-and-child class designed for shared play and bonding.

What if my baby sleeps or fusses the whole time?+

Totally normal, and totally welcome. Babies absorb the music either way, and a fussy day doesn't mean it isn't 'working.'
